The commonplace robotics GmbH, founded in 2011, has specialized as an integrator in software and hardware for robotics. With many years of automation experience in both, the industrial and educational sectors, the company offers optimized robots with control systems for both areas, using its own software in each case.

A milestone for the company was the strengthened collaboration with igus® GmbH. This partnership has made it possible to combine igus® robots with commonplace robotics software to create powerful and user-friendly solutions. This resulted in the igus® Robot Control Software, as well as the necessary hardware for robot control systems. This hardware is manufactured in Germany, in Bissendorf near Osnabrück, and is combined with igus® robots from Cologne. This control system is designed to provide an easy entry into robotics with high modularity, even for people without programming knowledge.

Since September 2022, commonplace robotics GmbH has been part of igus® GmbH. This merger has further intensified the collaboration and opened up new possibilities. With the "Robot Control," commonplace robotics and igus® aim for the goal to control and program robots from various manufacturers through their software. This is intended to make robotics easily accessible to everyone and lower the barriers to using robots in various applications.
